Behind the Magic:
How We Launched a Dream of Magical Scents

Creativity has always been my guiding force. It's the spark that ignites my passion and drives me to explore the uncharted territories of my imagination. From knitting to crafting, I've always found joy in bringing my creative visions to life. However, it wasn't until 2013 that I embarked on my journey into the world of candles.

 What started as a simple hobby quickly transformed into something more profound. After inundating my friends and family with an abundance of handmade candles, a friend posed a simple question that would change the course of my life forever: "Have you ever thought about going into business for yourself?" And just like that, the seed of entrepreneurship was planted, and The Columbia Fragrance Co. was born.

For me, the magic lies in the entire process – from selecting the perfect color to complement each scent to meticulously curating vessels that embody the essence of quality craftsmanship. Even the intricacies of running the business, from marketing our products to optimizing our operations, are challenges that I wholeheartedly embrace.

My journey reached new heights when I relocated to Columbia, Maryland, to be with my fiancé, Richard (now lovingly referred to as the VP of Awesome!). It was here that our company found its true identity, and we rebranded as The Columbia Fragrance Co. Word quickly spread about our signature Walt's Wonderful World products, featuring scents like Green Clover and Aloe, catapulting us into the spotlight of the fragrance industry.

When I'm not busy crafting candles or overseeing operations, you can find me indulging in a few of my favorite pastimes. Whether basking in the serenity of the beach or climbing mountains, rediscovering my inner strength through yoga, delving into the rich tapestry of history through genealogy research, or knitting intricate shawls and ponchos, I find solace and inspiration in the simple pleasures of life.
